The last girl to make it really big from a major beauty pageant in India was Priyanka Chopra and that was way back in 2000. Point is, winning a beauty pageant or participating in a film festival is just a start. The real challenge is to make your presence felt continually. 50% people at major film festivals are first timers; they complain, "we heard so much about the festival, but nothing happened, no one talks to us". No one has time for you, it is only after your face is recognizable after 3 or 4 years, does real work start coming in.
Entertainment & Media Industry is an industry that requires either lots of money, or lots of patience & perseverance - if you have none, you are in a wrong industry.
