Direction & Perspective have a very strong co-relation.

With my experience in making films, I realize no direction is wrong, it is only the perspective that goes wrong with respect to audience. Film-making is essentially telling a story, how well a director can tell a story. A story has very many perspectives, these perspectives are controlled right from the script (the screenplay & the dialogues) to the actors you choose, the setting you give to that scene, the angles you film it with and the cuts you decide during the edit. Delving deeper, the stay you give your actors and the Background Music you choose. These factors go a long way in connecting a directors' perspective with the audience.
I always tell directors to detach themselves from their films, once they are made, for the audiences reaction will differ; love, hate, indifference - are the three most common. As long as, the audience is watching the film or filmed content, a director should be a happy person! It's very tough for people today, with limited time and many options, to actually see a film.
