69 Opposites Attract l 99 l Marketing Your No Budget Film, Are You?

Filmmaking is getting costlier by the day, ironical, since digital should make it cheaper! That's not the case though, because star salaries and marketing a film has touched an all time high. A decade back doing ONE major film festival would cost somewhere around 7000 USD today it costs a whopping 12000 USD, almost double the cost!

With so much of money involved for an aspiring filmmaker, its only natural that no-budget or collaborative filmmaking is the way to go worldwide! The fact is you need to be seen to get work as cast or crew, visibility is the key to find work in an increasingly 'closed industry'.

Now, how do you get this visibility, 'marketing' most novice filmmakers will say.

Do you really have the budget for marketing after making a NO-Budget Film?

Social media, it's free yes, but how many people really see the forwarded films? I receive around 100 short films everyday to watch from my contacts worldwide, how many can I watch 100 films everyday?

Its not about making a film these days, its all about marketing a film and marketing it to people that matter, the right way!

Now this right way, is a trial & error method.. you succeed at times, you fail at times; point is the only way forward for NO-Budget filmmakers is getting visibility. Visibility gets you more work.. you might just make a solo-dance or singing or mono-act on your mobile.. just make sure its marketed well.
