One thing that people forget is that every business has a costing, when you destroy that the very basic of costing, profits are hard to come by. Till the time you have deep-pocket investors, everything seems roary & rosy on face, but once the investors start pulling out.. the bubble bursts.
Hindi Film Industry suffered it in less than a decade. In 2007, Hollywood studios turned their eyes towards India, today except for 3 production-houses most are owned by Hollywood Studios; after suffering huge losses they stopped production, but they destroyed the cost. Result, many top-lining directors that gave blockbusters in late 90's & early 2000's are sitting idle. The fake figures of films by perceived new-age directors circulated in media, is what sped up the rot, as independent producers with no knowledge of the film industry put their money on films that were strong on paper but weak on screen.
Today atleast 30 of my friends are making films that are in various stages of production, and I told them on their face, they are dead losses, so whatever you get out of the films, is a bonus.
The bubble of webseries too will bust, it started in 2017, while 2027 is still away.. I put the year for 'bubble burst' as 2020! Only the smart filmmakers will survive.
