Digital has made even a nobody, a filmmaker or a photographer; an actor, a cinematographer, an editor, a model, a scriptwriter. Actually, given everybody the power to create art; and also given everybody, an equal power to be art-critic(s).
Creating content is easy, developing a fan-base or a hate-base isn't; people get panicky when they are trolled; but the fact is even trollers troll artists that matter or deserve their attention, so getting trolled is the in thing ;)
The best way to develop a fan-base is getting seen on as many platforms as you can - VISIBILITY. Good films and bad films is a sham created by intelligentsia that can't create 'hit' films. There are only films that make money or films that do not!
I personally, put content on as many platforms as I can, because it helps your content being seen in countries that you don't even know exist! For example, Comoros!

Comoros is a country off Africa's east coast and the latest to read & follow the 69 Opposites Attract blog.. even I didn't knew such a country existed, till I saw that 69 Opposites Attract has reached there! When I was filming in Maldives, a girl told me her best friend is my biggest fan and mind you I had not been to Maldives before! Very sweetly, she & her friend gave a video-byte lauding my work! It's amazing to see the manner in which, the work reaches out & connects with the populace of the countries one hasn't even heard of
