Guess, it's the most common question these days, as a webseries today, requires just a mobile phone that you can have for about 100USD! That, and your time, is the investment (budget) for a webseries to enter the market; of course you can scale the budget up to even a million dollars per episode or webisode and henceforth, it's all about how deep your pockets are!
Honestly speaking, initially there are no returns, as digital space is an exponential growth medium. No content creator started earning from day one, if the CC didn't have an identifiable face or name associated or featuring in the content. The point then comes to how much do you invest on a webisode. I have already answered that.
Once the webisode is out, all you need to do is get traffic on to your content. Likes or dislikes are immaterial, as any film or filmed content you create will always have it's share of likes & dislikes. As long as the hits are there, money will slowly, but surely start coming in!
